The Informatics Pharmacist is responsible for system maintenance and troubleshooting of all automation technology within the pharmacy department. Automation systems include Pyxis ES, EPIC, DoseEdge IV workflow system, carousels and autopacker. The pharmacist works closely with the EPIC Willow team, with the BMC IT department, and with vendors as needed. The pharmacist has an integral role in ensuring the pharmacy's 340B system is continuously updated and in compliance. This pharmacist is also responsible for routine billing audits in collaboration with the revenue integrity department. The informatics pharmacist assists with implementation of new systems and provides training for staff. This pharmacist will be trained in all aspects of staffing as a central pharmacist including order verification, and will fill in 2 staffing shifts per month. The successful candidate must have inpatient pharmacy experience with at least 3 years experience working with pharmacy information systems. He or she must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines, as well as an ability to deal with frequent interruptions.
- Work requires a Bachelor s Degree. Advance degree (e.g. PharmD, M.S. or MBA) preferred.
- License to practice pharmacy in the State of Massachusetts.
- At least 3 -5 years experience in either of the following:
* Business application design, development, and installation, or
* Significant healthcare background with demonstrated abilities in the applications arena.
