Please note: This is a shared role with RMC Inpatient Pharmacy and Home Infusion.
The Pharmacist is responsible for screening, interpreting, evaluating and supervising and/or filling written or telephoned prescriptions. The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe medication management throughout the continuum of care for patients. Proper supervision of technician activities is required. Demonstrates knowledge of automation equipment and proper sterile compounding technique. The Pharmacist is also responsible for inventory management along with all regulatory compliance requirements.
The Pharmacist provides clinical management for patients. Discusses patient care as needed with other healthcare providers including physicians, nurses and other licensed practitioners. Identifies potential adverse drug events and risks for medication errors. Intervention to assure safe and appropriate drug therapy is expected. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients being served. This requires that the individual demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psychosocial needs of the patient population in the health system.
Shift: 2-3 shifts per week. 11 am - 11 pm generally with some weekends/holidays. Split role with most hours worked in the inpatient pharmacy. Part Time Evenings with occasional weekends and holidays.
