SERVICE AREA OVERVIEW

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Assists Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. The Infusion Assistant demonstrates proficiency in sterile compounding including chemotherapy and hazardous medications. Provides patient care services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and others as necessary. Knowledge and skill in the operation of personal computers and office equipment.

PREFERRED: Previous hospital or infusion pharmacy experience. Certified technician training program. Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam.
