Physical Therapist Assistant PTA

Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited PTA program; current PTA license is preferred but not required. Candidate must have a minimum of one year experience working with the elderly population. Candidate must be skilled in the use and maintenance of physical therapy equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to: assist the Physical Therapist in facilitating treatment to Participants, (i.e., exercises, massages, electrical stimulation, paraffin baths, hot and cold packs, traction, ultrasound, etc.)The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to: the ability to lift/carry up to 65 pounds and push or pull objects exceeding 150 pounds; standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling and reaching at arm's length for prolonged periods of time; working under stressful conditions.Must have excellent communication and documentation skills and enjoy working with computers. Candidate must be willing to submit to a drug screen, background check and check of driving history.No weekends and no holidays!Responsibilities include: Provides skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist. Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Physical Therapist. Implements and modifies the patient's physical therapy plan of treatment with RPT supervision. Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.Qualifications include: Graduate from an approved PTA school and holds a current Physical Therapist Assistant License for the state in which he/she practices.
