Job Summary: The physical therapist assistant assists the physical therapist in conducting certain evaluation procedures and in developing treatment goals and programs, treats patients under the direction of the physical therapist according to the established treatment plan, supervises and delegates tasks to supportive personnel, maintains appropriate records, communicates patient progress to physicians and other health care workers as indicated, meets department productivity expectations, accepts responsibility for personal and professional growth and performs other duties as assigned. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area.Minimum Education/Training: Associates degreeRegistration/Certification or License Required: Heartsaver CPR (or completed within 60 days of hire)Preferred Education: 1 to 2 yearsPreferred Experience: Management Experience (If applicable): NOPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to push or pull on a wheeled device up to 200 lbs., prolonged standing/walking up to 6 hours a day, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling and reachingOther Requirements: This position is for a busy and growing acute care Rehab department serving patients with stroke, orthopedic, and medical diagnoses. Prefer 1-2 years experience in an acute care setting. This position has a weekend rotation requirement. Full Time Days
