Department: Acute Rehab Services OT/PT/ST

Job Summary

Evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the State Practice Act. Designs and implements a plan of care to restore loss of mobility, improve strength and coordination, and relieve pain with the goal of maximizing patient s functional level.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
Current license in North Carolina as required for practice.
Demonstrated competency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physical therapy.
Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization, including training for age groups likely to be seen in this health system.
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
Ability to problem solve, assess patient s needs, develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills preferred.
Computer skills required.

Physical/Behavioral Requirements

Physical requirements include occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, frequent standing, and walking. Medium physical force is required (exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects). Visual acuity is required for patient care, documentation, and testing. Ability to speak and hear is required for patient evaluation and to effectively communicate with patients, family members, physicians, and staff. Sense of touch and manual finger dexterity is required for patient care and testing, and equipment use. Ability to effectively manage a high stress environment resulting from fluctuating patient census. Days Full Time
