JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Physician Assistant - Provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition. Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests. Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal. Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about the management and treatment of patients. Obtains, compiles, and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management. Prescribes therapy or medication, typically with physician approval. Provides physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Supervises and coordinate activities of technicians and technical assistants. Visits and observes patients on hospital rounds, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician. May order medical and laboratory supplies and equipment.
90% - Direct patient contact/care provider including procedures.
10% - Interdisciplinary meetings.
