Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant works under the supervision of a physician to give quality treatment, referral and follow-up care. Key Responsibilities: * Performs health histories, physical exams, individual and group health education. * Orders diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, and contrast studies with physician approval. * Interprets physical findings, lab and x-ray results, makes diagnoses, and formulates and carries out treatment plan, prescribing medication in accordance to state licensing laws. * Refers cases to immediate supervising physician when patient conditions are complicated, exceed the Physician Assistants limit of care or level of training. * Provides emergency care to prevent the loss of life, limb or eyesight. Institutes emergency procedures in accordance with level of training. * Assists WC Case Manager in providing medical surveillance and exposure follow-up activities. * Manages program goals by assessing needs, initiating or coordinating intervention, and evaluating outcomes. * Provides information, education and support to staff and consultation to client companies on occupational health issues, policies and procedures. * Supports clinic function by participating in and implementing policy development, operational improvement and the implementation of policies and improvements. * Actively participates in the Performance Improvement Program. * Responds to employees and supervisors inquiries on employee health matters. Requirements Education: Successful completion of a course of study or training approved by an accredited medical body such as CAHEA, American Medical Association or the Association of Medical College. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of PA practice. Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: NCCPA certification.
