Position Summary

The Picking Team Lead is responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the packing area in a timely manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity. The Picking Team Leader is responsible for efficient completeness and correctness of all orders filled ensuring that the correct number and type of product is picked correctly. At times, assembles various types of merchandise for shipment. The Picking Team Leader is responsible for the guidance and success of our Picking Team.

This role will be on the 2nd shift with a typical start time of 3:00 pm. This role may also be required to work Saturdays which will be compensated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



* Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment

* Accurately pick proper product for each order.

* Maintain racks organized by item number, removing any trash or unnecessary boxes causing clutter.

* Be knowledgeable of the product that is available including new products

* Planning a daily agenda.

* Monitor and maintain a secured work place

* Oversee our Picking Department

* Supervise Daily orders.

* Regularly audits and reviews the effectiveness/progress of work of personnel and communicates results.

* Provides assistance in solving practical problems and deals with a variety of variable situations where standardization exists.

* Maintain established quality procedures and administers the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.

* Interacts with office personnel with respect to customer requests and shipment inquiries.

* Follow and maintain the Company's Policy and Procedures including standards of health and safety, and security in the work environment.

* Trains and develops new and current staff in the unit of responsibility.

* Provides guidance and helps employees with hard-to-handle requests and freight/product related problems.

* Acts as backup to all employees within the position they are leading.

* Coordinates the use of automated and computerized system



Knowledge and Skills

* High school diploma or GED required

* Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment required

* Excellent listening and communication skills

* Must be able to keep up with a faced paced environment and a moderate-speed conveyor line

* Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

* Requires the ability to act independently without direct supervision as well as to support a team to accomplish critical and timely objectives

* Proficiency with numbers and strong basic math skills

* Excellent work ethic a must

* Excellent listening and communication skills

* Ability to stand for long periods of time

* Valid forklift operator s license desired

* Two years experience using an RF scan gun desired
