Job Description

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented & innovative Pilot Plant Supervisor to join our Manufacturing Science & Technology department located at our Bedford, OH facility. As a Pilot Plant Supervisor you will be responsible for the safety & training of Pilot Plant Staff, compliance with local, state, & federal regulations, & continuous improvement to meet business objectives. Collaborates with business partners to execute capital projects, maintain equipment, & sustain operations through preventive & predictive maintenance, master planning, & tracking key performance indicators. Drives the operations towards a Center of Excellence for the corporation by setting st&ards & delivering results.

Duties Responsibilities:
- Manages all Pilot Plant Operations including the direct supervision of leads & technicians. Studies performed within the facility include process scale-ups, assessing new technology, & determining root causes for investigations.
- Diagnoses & defines work team needs for effective performance. Acts as Hiring Manager for recruitment, interview & hiring of qualified employees. Develops internal talent through coaching, counseling, training & other relevant experiences that meet the needs of the organization. Sets performance objectives & regularly evaluates employee performance to ensure staff is meeting both current & future needs. Effectively addresses performance deficiencies.
- Responsible for the formal on-boarding process for temporary staff, which includes office space requirements, training on SOPs & guidelines, & transition into roles supporting key projects.
- Develop tools to improve efficiency & compliance for our partners. For example, using the ISPE guidelines, develop system boundaries for our qualified utilities & incorporates ASME E2500 concepts to commissioning & validation practices & procedures.
- Assists management in creating & maintaining the capital & expense budgets. Collects data, monitors trends, & provides forecasts to meet approved budgets.
- Maintains commissioned state for equipment & systems. Tracks changes through corrective work orders & change controls where applicable. Sustains operations through preventive & predictive maintenance. Generates corrective & preventive actions for equipment & process failures. For operator errors, re-trains staff & assesses training through skill assessments.
