Job Description:

We have opening for qualified pipefitters with recent experience. The opportunity is available with Integrated Marine Services, INC., a ship repair company in Chula Vista California. The perfect applicants is currently working as a pipefitter or has recent, relevant experience in shipboard installations, including large, complex projects. Has the ability to read, understand, drawings and must have worked in a shipboard environment. SUMMARY Responsible for assembling and installing pipe systems and pipe supports. Installs pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Qualified applicant must be able to pass pre-employment copper nickel sil-braze test. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate with job site manager to configure pipe system layout.Perform/assist in the performance of hydrostatic testingSelects proper supports and pipe hangers to suit application.Cut, fit, assemble pipe joints.Read and interpret blue printsCut, thread, and hammer pipes according to pipe system specs.Use saws and cutting torches to craft proper pipe sizes.Turn off steam, water, or gas from pipe section.Secure pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.Repair and maintain pipe systems and components.Resolve problems such as obstructions or holes.Repair cracks and leaks.Must be legal to work in the U.S.A. and pass Government required background check (Rapidgate) Integrated Marine Services, INC. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
