Job Description for Planner:
Creates and implements fulfillment standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Quality control checks all customer orders
Monitors supplier's performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Negotiate and leverage volume pricing with current vendors
Compare costs and evaluate shipping costs between the vendors
Manages all vendor relationships to arrange purchasing of all materials current and new
Responsible for making sure the fulfillment process is being performed effectively to rule out lost sales and costly delays.
Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
Responsible for the managing and ordering of inventory for the company
Creates and implements an order point SOP
negotiate prices, terms, contracts with suppliers, vendors, ground services, and common carriers.
Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
Examine the process at hand and take steps for improvement and cost reduction.
Optimize inventory and supply chain activities and documentation for productivity.
Researches and sources potential items for future implementation
Forecast product needs and develop new forecasting methods
Oversees the implementation of marketing campaigns into shipments.
Consults With: Customer Service, Sales Staff, Service Technician, Marketing Manager
Dimensions: Communicates with Vendors and Manufactures
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Related Field is a plus.
Our company is not a full manufacturing/product plant. We do however coordinate a small bit of inventory here and an outside warehouse.
We have never had someone in this position before. It would be new to our company a potential candidate can increase that dramatically within a couple of years.
