This position leads the financial team in the timely assimilation, preparation, and reporting of accurate financial data to ensure a clear picture of the financial condition of the company and assist in making sound business decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
* Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives and policies for the Company.
* Insures accounting procedures and controls are in place to protect the assets of the company.
* Prepares reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
* Directs preparation of budgets.
* Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
* Main point of contact for financial and SOX compliance audits.
This individual is responsible for supervising the members of the Accounting/Purchasing Department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accounting experience within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, plant personnel, regulatory agencies, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
