JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Plant Controller provides financial leadership to two manufacturing facilities. This position will be accountable for driving results to the segment manufacturing financial leader. The Plant Controller will be responsible for maintaining a control environment that complies with the Company's internal control policies and Sarbanes Oxley.

The Plant Controller is expected to be a dynamic leader on the plant leadership team by contributing to all areas of plant management. The position is an important part of the financial talent pipeline and serves as a feeder for larger plants as well as corporate roles (i.e. Mfg Financial Leader, Segment Analyst, etc.). This individual will also be responsible for leadership of non-financial plant administrative processes such as sourcing and warehouse (raw materials).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.LIVE THE SAFETY STAND, ADHERE TO THE SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES.

METRICS

* Practices safe work activities and leads RIR to 0.
* Participates in plant safety programs.

2.OPERATIONS PLANNING

* Participates in the development of operational objectives for the plant that are aligned to Corporate and Division strategic objectives
* Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.

METRICS

* Operating rhythm and cadence in place and being followed

* Operations Plans executed
* Process expectations and timing

3. FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONAL CONTROLS

Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)

* Drives a robust representation letter process that provides assurance and visibility to a sound internal control environment.
* Leads the Continuous Sign-off process to ensure that accountability for internal controls is clear and that processes are documented.

METRICS

* Controls performance ratings
* Audit ratings

4. REPORTING AND ANALYSIS

* Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
* Prepares and delivers the plant financial forecasts and projections
* Monitors the plant's monthly closing process in conjunction with the Accounting team
* Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel
* Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
* Provides risk analysis for contingency planning

METRICS

* Timely and accurate Closing process
* Forecast accuracy and timeliness
* Balance Sheet Integrity

5. DRIVING PLANT PROFITABILITY

* Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs
* Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.
* Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making
* Provides investment analysis
* Assists in contract evaluation and negotiation
* Educates plant personnel on key performance metrics

METRICS

* Productivity against plan
* Financial performance against plan
* Return on capital
* Results of capital projects

6. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND TEAM CONTRIBUTION

* Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, division or corporate objectives

* Shares best practices across division, i.e, process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes.
* Aligns teams and resources in order to solve problems and drive results
* Provides support to team members at plant, segment and corporate level

7. LEADING AND DEVELOPING TALENT

* Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people.
* Acts as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance
* Invests in the growth and development of their direct reports and other identified talent in their organization.
* Ensures succession plans are executed for focus roles

METRICS

* Rate of turnover
* Rate of turnover for poor and marginal performers
* Talent additions through external recruiting
* Number of turnovers of high performance and high growth talent
* Talent developed and promoted under their leadership

8. PLANT PROCESS AND ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP

* Leads non-financial plant administrative processes for sourcing and warehouse (raw materials).
* Assigns resources and provides support and direction as needed.
* Monitors and hold self and others accountable for safety.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline required. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years manufacturing finance experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

* Providing leadership to organizations within a manufacturing operation(s)--leading operations planning, savings, forecasting and investment analysis
* Operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions--forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development.
* Delivering continuous improvement.
* Participating in the development of strategic plans.
* Negotiating, developing and evaluating customer and supplier contracts
* Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talent--growing talent and succession planning.
* Demonstrated high growth in previous experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles--understands P weighs and manages risk in decision making; able to make decisions detrimental to a few but helpful to many.
* Must be willing to relocate to the current, or future locations for growth and development
