Specialty Granules LLC is seeking a Plant Engineer for their Blue Ridge Summit, PA Plant. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Plant Engineer will lead new plant projects and coordinate technology transfer activities between Corporate and Site. Develop Process & instrumentation drawings which should show the detailed process flows including all equipment, piping components, block valves and details of the installed instrument control equipment. Manage Capital project portfolio to ensure that all allocated monies are spent in the most effective way possible, returning the highest value according to the RPN's used. Provide engineering assistance, when necessary, to maintenance and operations personnel. Drive the 5-year plan for the site with regard to manufacturing capabilities, site infrastructure, asset life cycle, and bottleneck analysis. Plant Engineer will be responsible for:
Developing and coordinating cost estimates for AFE development, using criteria to judge or rank projects based on selected criteria, such as return on investment.
Managing construction activities to ensure work is completed according to contractual stipulations as well as EH&S regulations.
Ensure that new installations are validated against the appropriate contractual stipulations, which includes but not limited to calibration and design stipulations.
Work closely with Operations and Maintenance Managers to ensure they are properly represented at the design stage, with the scope of work and plant needs appropriately reflected.
W ork is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions and rough terrain exist. The position will require occasional lifting and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to climb to heights of 200 feet.
To qualify for this position, candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing setting or mining environment. BS in Engineering is required.
