RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Maintenance

* Perform preventive maintenance on the mechanical and electrical systems including inspection and lubrication.

* Routine replacement of bearings, idlers, dust collector bags, gear boxes and drives belts.

* Torch cutting and arc welding with the ability to set torch gauges and welding machines properly.

* Disconnect, replace, and reconnect low and medium voltage motors within the plant using proper wiring, lugging, and insulating procedures.

* Repair motor starters, soft starts, DC drives, and variable frequency drives.

* Knowledge of PLC systems desired

Safety

* Maintain tools in safe and good working condition.

* Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulation and follow company lock out tag out procedures.

* Responsible for equipment and work area inspections.

* Report any potential operational or safety problems to management.

Perform General Plant labor in all operational areas of the plant.

ATTRIBUTES:

* Proficient knowledge of 480V power distribution and motor control systems required.

* Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.

* Working knowledge of mechanical equipment in an industrial plant is required.

* Read and understand one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

* Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.

* Perform basic mathematical calculations is required.

* Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs.

* Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers.

* Demonstrate the ability to operate a computer preferred.

* Must have a valid Texas driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.

* Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

* Lift over 50 pounds.

* Work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Previous mechanical/electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, demonstrated skills or ability, technical college training desired.
