The Plant Manager is accountable for driving a culture of innovation and process excellence through strong vision and collaboration with stakeholders, effective leadership, management and coaching. This role is responsible for the overall management, direction, coordination and control of all plant operations. Ensures production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost and highest product quality while meeting customer delivery requirements. Is accountable for acceptable operating variances within production results and takes all necessary actions to maximize the operating profit. These objectives are achieved through delegation and effective management of Materials, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Human Resources, Cost Accounting, and Maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

* Directs the manufacturing and assembly of products at the most optimal costs consistent with defined quality, accuracy and performance standards.

Operates and manages daily operations production results effectively to meet demand delivery expectations and high quality with an effective minimum working inventory from utilization of people, machinery, equipment, raw materials and facilities.
*

Submits all reporting requirements to upper management on status of various responsibilities; makes recommendations and implements corrective actions in cases of unsatisfactory results and continuously develops and implements effective methods for improving efficiencies.
*

Develops and maintains active metrics for leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (Shareholder, Customer, Business Processes and Employee).
*

Controls quality, cost of production, inventory, shipping and receiving through appropriate subordinates.
*

Coordinates the execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity. Ensures the procurement and receipt of necessary raw materials and supplies for attaining optimum manufacturing efficiencies.
*

Coordinates with plant personnel on the application of production methods and quality standards.
*

Develop and execute annual capital investment plan with reviews and approvals for all recommended upgrades to machinery, equipment and buildings, including the purchase of new capital equipment.
*

Oversees the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and security for a safe effective work environment.
*

Maintains compliance to all policies and procedures (both corporate and plant) for all personnel within the operation. Creates and implements new plant policies as needed which support, maintain and/or enhance the union free operational status.
*

Develops and/or reviews and approves recommendations of subordinates in human resource related matters such as performance management, hiring, promotions, terminations, rate changes and more.
*

Drives the safety first culture by ensuring that the operations meet or exceed all state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
*

Evaluates manpower/staffing levels and maintains appropriate ratio of direct to indirect labor.
*

Works with others to identify technical problems and develops and implement constructive solutions.
*

Represents the Company by interacting with customers on quality and service issues.
*

Represents the Company in the community and promotes the Company s goodwill and interests in community activities.
*

Must lead by example and maintain high ethical standards.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

*

Achieves financial results including but not limited to production, return on investment and/or capital employed, operational variances, inventory and compensation costs.
*

Attainment of performance improvements via cost reductions, productivity improvements, technological advances, quality improvements, etc.
*

Organizational development efforts and results, including but not limited to, such areas as manpower planning/development, safety, affirmative action plan goals, training, employee involvement, morale, communications, grievances/lawsuits/turnover, etc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business or Industrial Management plus four (4) or more years experience in metal removal manufacturing including at least two (2) years in a higher level supervisory capacity.

* Must have broad, in-depth knowledge of manufacturing methods, production planning, employee relations, standard cost and financial controls.

* Must have 3+ years of relevant continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience. Strong knowledge and application of LEAN tools, TPM, Six Sigma methodology or other quality improvement processes.

* Ability to effectively communicate, motivate and lead at all levels.

* Superior analytical and critical thinking abilities, ability to balance multiple events and priorities, set and govern the necessary direction of the organization.

* Must have exceptional computer skills in programs such as ERP systems, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
