Johns Manville has a great opportunity for a Plant Manager to be located in Edison, NJ. The position will be responsible for our Edison NJ Plant and the Denver CO distribution facility. The Edison, NJ facility makes PVC fitting covers and jacketing for use with Micro-Lok as well as other types of pipe insulation. This position reports directly to a Group Plant Manager.

Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to safety, technical degree with a history of implementing process improvements and proven track record of timely deliver on customer commitments. Your experience should include either managing a small plant or being in an operations role and are ready to take the next step. Responsibilities

* Manage all aspects of a manufacturing plant facility of approximately fifty employees. In conjunction with senior group management, evaluates, establishes and manages activities to meet short term, long term and transitional plant goals* Embraces and drives JM's emphasis on safety and environmental practices to either meet or exceed company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements* Leads, manages and develops plant employees to ensure the necessary capabilities and culture is in place to maintain an effective operation. This includes establishing direction, gaining commitment, delegating, and building organizational capabilities* Manages production efforts to meet delivery and cost goals. Reports plant metrics and progress according to daily/weekly/monthly established schedule * Apply technical knowledge and production processes experience in leading the organization and improve processes/efficiencies utilizing tools such as Lean, 6 Sigma, 5-S, etc. * Collaborates with the organization's financial team in controlling plant costs - including developing, managing and controlling budgetary process. Establishes and manages cost reduction activities as appropriate and consistent with plant goals* Manages utilities and outside physical plant services. Maintains business continuity and emergency plans (fire/storm/floor/tornado etc)* Lead and/or oversee major change initiatives * Acts as JM representative to the community, works with local leadership to enhance favorable image of JM and ensures required local services are available in order to position JM as a responsible corporate citizen of the community.



* Minimum 7 years of positions with increasing levels of responsibility in a manufacturing environment* Minimum 2 + years' experience in a plant leadership role* Four year degree required with an engineering or technical degree strongly preferred* Minimum 2 years' experience of successfully leading teams including managing salaried and hourly employees. Proven collaborative and participative management skills are essential * Proven history of embracing and managing employee safety and environmental compliance* Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement changes with experience with a continuous process discipline such as Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, or equivalent* Working knowledge of financial systems and controls - including ability to analyze budget and cost data, determine trends and apply corrective actions to achieve desired financial goals* Solid project planning and management skills, using standard project management tools* Demonstrated ability to implement recommendations and drive change initiatives* Proven communications skills in all directions are essential* Demonstrated ability analyze, implement and troubleshoot technical issues* Proven ability to drive results
