Plant Manager Fiber Plant Claremont, NC

HSM is looking for a highly motivated, talented and experienced manufacturing professional interested in the Plant Manager opening at our Claremont, NC fiber facility. The candidate must have manufacturing experience, preferably in high loft nonwoven textiles. This position will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of the facility and personnel in order to obtain maximum customer satisfaction, efficiency, lowest cost, and meet strategic objectives. The plant manager also ensures safety policies are enforced stringently and set identifiable goals and objectives for staff. While face-to-face interactions are an essential part of the position, a crucial component of the job is communicating with upper management on trends on plant performance, forecasts for future performances, and other issues. As with other management positions, the plant manager must possess expert communication skills to set guidelines for subordinates and deal with problems swiftly but carefully.The successful candidate will have the documented ability and leadership skills to impact and drive cultural change in the organization. A proven history of the successful management of equipment, facilities, and personnel is required. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, lean production methods, and coordination of people and resources is required.

This position significantly impacts HSM s ability to be competitive in the areas of sales, quality, delivery, cost and growth while ensuring safe and environmentally friendly work settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws
Control significant manufacturing projects, plan and schedule facility assignments, and set priorities
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments.
Identify opportunities that best utilize the facility s infrastructure to meet customer requirements
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production facility, including maintenance, quality assurance, design, engineering and administration.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Support Sales and cross-functional teams in the development of product and service solutions
Resolve problems by adjusting priorities, schedule, and reassignment of workforce
Control obsolete and excess inventory, provide inventory models to maintain required inventory effectively and accurately
Coordinates and is responsible for the overall cost of the product
Ensures specification and cost sheets are created accurately and are routed to the proper departments for implementation
Monitor and implements corrective actions to ensure the location is improving safety, efficiency, cost, service, and quality
Confirms the financial units
