Plant Mechanical EngineerLeading U.S. manufacturer seeks an experienced Plant Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. Our processing facility is located in Plaquemines Parish, 60 miles South of New Orleans. We need a degreed mechanical engineer with at least 3years of plant mechanicalengineeringexperience and a solid background in equipment maintenance, project planning and production optimization. Position OverviewAs our Plant Mechanical Engineer, it is your responsibility to ensure the optimal functioning of our processing operations as it supports the entire plant. You will report directly to our VP of Plant Operations and have a staff of 8 direct reports including Maintenance Supervisors and Foremen. You will work with every department to ensure the effective and efficient operations with a high level of interaction with fleet, accounting/finance, HR and marketing/sales.The Plant Mechanical Engineer is directly responsible for ensuring Plant Maintenance and Equipment Compliance, effective and efficient Production/Processing Operations as well as over Risk Management, People Management and Financial Management.Position Primary Areas of Responsibility:MaintenanceEnsure routine maintenance performed according to equipment specifications and requirements in a timely manner to ensure plant availabilityMajor maintenance projects planned, implemented and monitored including assessing production needs, accurate estimates of cost, time and resourcesWill take all maintenance projects from planning through implementation to ensure adherence to plan with continuous progress feedback provided to involved partiesEnsures maintenance projects are done within budget and on timeCapital projects planned, implemented and monitored and conform to Capex criteriaBoiler Plant maintenance and availability optimized, ensuring compliance to statutory requirementsEquipment Compliance ensured and maintained and mandatory documentation prepared, kept up to date and easily retrievableProcessing/ProductionResearch, design, analyze and optimize industrial processesProduction targets identified, communicated and achievedProduction processes assessed and managedEnsure optimal use of labor availability and utilizationQuality requirements are adhered to as well as nature and causes of deviances are investigated and solutions providedEnsure product is available for dispatch as per logistics requirementsKPI s reported on daily and monthlyRisk ManagementRelevant occupational health and safety laws, regulations and standards complied with including required policies and procedures in placeRisk Management System in place with 100% compliance to regulationsPeriodic audits of Risk Management System with corrective actions where necessary to ensure a safety working environment at all timesRisk assessment conducted periodically to anticipate, minimize and control occupational hazardsRegular communication to inform employees of Risk Management issuesUnsafe acts, behaviors managed appropriatelyPeople ManagementProspective employees recruited, interviewed and selected in accordance to company policiesTraining and Development of employees managedEmployee performance and industrial relations managed in accordance with company policy including timely corrective action, counseling and the like while maintaining confidentialityFinancial ManagementMaintenance and operational budgets compiled accurately and timely according to strategic and departmental/divisional plan with accurate monthly reviewsCosts managed against budget and current forecast with accurate monthly analysis of results and reporting to managementCost saving mechanisms identifiedPosition RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical EngineeringAt least 3years of mechanicalengineeringexperience in a plant/refinery or manufacturing environmentPrevious supervisor/management experience over maintenance team preferredMust have a very strong background in equipment maintenanceMust have a proven track record of success working independently to make decision on estimating costs of maintenance, spend money responsibly within budget, selecting right/competent contractorsMust be able to accurately estimate production targetsMust have a solid background in planning with the ability to do forecasting on a daily, monthly and annual basisMust be adept at ensuring daily and project-related deadlines are adhered toMust have previous experience working with and negotiating with suppliers and contractorsPosition Salary/CompensationBase Salary $90-160K, depending on experienceComprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401K
