Superior Group is looking for Plastics Engineer for our Client located in Woodstock, IL


Responsible for designing and developing materials and other goods made with plastics.
Creates specifications, establishes manufacturing control plans, and designs pieces and parts.
Design plastics or injection-mold fabrication processes.
Create and improve injection-mold machinery.
Research and develop new manufacturing processes.
Analyze manufacturing data and suggest improvements.
Analyze production and machinery line.
Ensure quality output of molded components.
Develop and design engineered plastic parts, insert molded parts and assemblies.
Prepare quotes, interact with customers, suppliers, and internal resources.
Establish the parameters for an optimal molding environment.
Design necessary components.
Ensure environment to make plastics is appropriate.
Analyze quality control and correct flaws.
Work with other team members and vendors.
Review existing validation reports.
Create new reports and verifications.
Analyze mold flow, part advisor analysis, finite element analysis, and stress/fatigue analysis on plastics.
Design hot/cold runner molds.
Develop 3D solid mold designs.
Create water diagrams and hot runner wiring schematics.
Prepare mold-filling simulations.
Identification and conversion of OEM and large MRO New Business Opportunities in automotive market.
Maintenance of existing Key Account base so as to ensure that client Technologies is provided the “right of first refusal” to quote.
Provide channel management so as to maximize profitable sales growth in automotive industry.
Train all channel personnel in new products & services.
Assist in the annual sales planning and forecasting process by providing an annual Regional “ground up” sales forecast.
Assist with systems based on Lean principles and practices that meets or exceeds the requirements of ISO 9000, AS9100, ISO14001, TS-16949 and all other quality standards required to serve our target markets.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility via operation within an approved sales expense budget.

Product and application knowledge should be demonstrated together with field sales experience and automation solutions capabilities for industrial engineered products.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer literacy and computer presentation using Solid Works is required.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 years’ experience as plastic injection molding.
Bachelor's degree
