Plumber Military FacilitiesThis is a permanent contract hire to perform on-going work on military installations and facilities. Full time; multi-year contractQualified Selectee will perform the full range of journeyman level plumbing tasks including the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems, such as sewage, water, and gas distribution systems, and fixtures and equipment such a stubs, toilets, water heaters, and showers. ** Requires a Journeyman Plumbing License at a minimum, Master Plumber License preferred ** Required experience include:When performing service work, must be able to estimate labor and material requirements to determine job scope.Must be able to work from building plans, blueprints, work orders, and sketches to create plans: lay outs, routing, placement, slant, slope, fall and proper operation of new and existing systems and equipment.Must have experience with installation of hangers, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions as needed.Able to locate leaks or obstructions, and repair or clear them.Must have a thorough knowledge of plumbing methods and techniques to perform work in the installation, modification or repair of various supply, disposal, and utility systems and equipment.Must have the skill necessary to plan and lay out routing, openings, slant, and level of water and gas lines, and best location and arrangement of equipment.Must have knowledge to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints, the ability to use trade mathematics in order to lay out arcs, circles, and tangents.Must be skilled in the use of plumbing tools and equipment, such as plumb bobs, mercury gauges, dividers, augers, and hydrostatic pumps.Requires a valid Driver's License, and ability to operate a work service vehicle.May require to be on-call on a rotating shift basis, able to respond after-hours and weekends.May be designated ALPHA personnel, and required to respond to report for duty in special emergency situations.Experience with preventative maintenance systems.Fire sprinkler systems experience Employee will report to a shop manager. May be required to be on-call on a rotating shift basis, able to respond after-hours and weekends. May be designated ALPHA personnel, and required to respond to report for duty in special emergency situations. Overtime will be required. Employee must provide his/her own tools of the trade, and safety shoesTravel out of the Hampton Roads area is not anticipated.A favorable security determination must be made (including proof of US Citizenship) to permit access to military facilities prior to finalizing employment. The employee must maintain this favorable status, and valid Drivers License, throughout the duration of the Contract.
