Dewberry is currently seeking a Plumbing Engineer for our New York City office. Duties will include design of a wide range of projects including commercial, institutional, residential, and educational buildings. Candidate shall have experience in designing, selecting, and laying out plumbing systems including domestic cold water, domestic hot water, sanitary drainage and vent, storm drainage, pumps, natural gas distribution and other special plumbing systems. Experience in surveying field conditions is required. Candidate shall also be capable of designing and laying out fire protection systems including; wet pipe and dry pipe sprinklers, FM 200, kitchen hood fire suppression system, etc. Other responsibilities include preparation of CAD drawings, system design calculations, equipment selections, design reports, and design narratives. Candidate will also be required to coordinate work with the client and engineers of other disciplines, attend meetings, and prepare meeting minutes. Experience in incorporating sustainable (LEED) design methods in buildings a plus.","Bachelor's degree in engineering with a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
4 to 7 years experience related to plumbing and fire protection systems design.
Proficiency in Revit MEP will be a plus.
Good communication skills essential for team coordination.
Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
Valid Driver's License is required.
