This is a temporary position at our Capitol Hill sleep Lab. It is a 7p-7a shift, 3 days per week.
There is a potential of this position continuing .

Perform EEGs awake, asleep, sleep deprived and portable. Recognize seizure activity and other distress and take appropriate action during patient emergency situations. Ensure patient comfort and safety at all times. Ensure electrode impediances meet laboratory standards. Administer oxygen and nasal CPAP as prescribed by physician or protocol. Instruct patients in the care and proper use of nasal CPAP in a home environment. Recognize, document and monitor artifact. Review and update comprehensive patient histories. Communicate with other departments, Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary physicians. Generate and manipulate, transfer and store EEGs, Polysomnograms, MSLTs, MWTs, and CPAP and BI-LEVEL titrations on a Nihon Kohden acquisitions system. Score and compile data from PSGs into reports for physician review. Load, manipulate and score actigraphy files. Maintain records, files and schedules. Dispense physician-ordered over-the-counter medications. Education
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education
Some College Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory care, electroencephalogram diagnostics or polysomnography

Basic or limited None

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

Minimum Experience Requirements
3 years Polysomnography. 1 year experience in EEG.

Preferred Experience

Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
At time of hire Certified in CPR AND registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
