ABOUT THE JOB:
The role of Senior Family Wealth Investment Advisor (the Advisor) serves as the lead investment advisor and manager for KPB s most affluent clients and multi-generational families. This role has the responsibility to deliver sophisticated investment solutions to help clients achieve a broad range of goals and aspirations. In addition, the Advisor must be able to offer advice on the entirety of a client s investment holdings while managing assets on the Key platform in an open architecture structure. Ultra-high net worth clients generally have in excess of $15 million of investable assets and a net worth exceeding $25 million. Within the relationship team, the Advisor augments the client experience, collaborates effectively with clients, their advisory team and other KPB relationship team members and provides insights and solutions to attract, retain and grow clients who require advice and complex investment strategies to protect and grow personal and family wealth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Investment Advisory Initiates and coordinates the primary investment decisions in fulfilling the family investment objectives under the direction of the family leaders. Develops a detailed profile which seeks to gather comprehensive information and insights about the financial investments, objectives and preferences of KPB s clients and prospects including rendering insights and advice on assets non-custodial to KPB. Coordinates efforts with other in-house and out-sourced financial professionals to minimize risk and maximize returns Maintains detailed knowledge of investment markets, concepts, solutions and strategies for KPB s ultra-affluent clients/prospects including a working knowledge of relevant tax issues. Creates, implements and coordinates a comprehensive family financial strategy, including a comprehensive Investment Policy Statement (IPS) Develops, maintains and monitors multiple and segregated family financial strategies, IPS s and asset allocation strategies as required by family dynamics. Organizes and implements an asset allocation strategy built around the principles and benchmarks as indicated and agreed upon by all the decision makers in the IPS Seamlessly utilizes the available account aggregation, reporting and risk metrics/analytics capabilities of the firm in customizing the services and data to the desires of the family Coordinates and manages investment research team and internal experts in each asset class Selects, diversifies and monitors the money managers who carry out the actual investing of various aspects of the portfolio, including cash management, bonds, equities, alternatives and derivatives, being sensitive to any tax issues the family faces. Maintains a working knowledge of non-investment related advisory issues and solutions which may impact the team s ability to help clients achieve their goals and aspirations. Shares intellectual capital among the group of similarly experienced advisors within the Family Wealth Group Portfolio Construction Works collaboratively with the KPB investment management team to execute the strategies and solutions necessary to adopt and maintain the investment mandate identified in the IPS. Operates within the KPB investment management platform and offers suggestions for improvement to it. Identifies specific opportunities to adopt alternative investment strategies designed to achieve IPS goals and objectives. Identifies and executes specific risk mitigation strategies designed to achieve IPS goals and objectives. Understands and adopts client preferences for socially responsible and impact related investment strategies within the framework of KPB s investment platform. Client Management Maintains responsibility for all investment communication with KPB Family Wealth clients including the identification of client preferences for the timing of periodic investment review meetings and portfolio and investment/market updates. On a regular basis and especially during periods of market turbulence, delivers timely communication of KPB strategy changes and updates. Maintains contact with relevant team members and client advisors regarding tax related matters and ongoing liquidity requirements. Works with KPB team members to manage appropriate client related travel. Conducts and documents annual review of client investment goals and objectives and modifies/updates the IPS as appropriate. Participates, as required, in opportunities to meet with clients in social settings and various entertainment venues. Demonstrates high level communication skills with the wide range of ultra high net worth clients - patriarchs and matriarchs of families, business owners, corporate executives and other prominent clients often highly educated with diverse careers and backgrounds, multiple advisors and usually discreet as to their accumulated wealth Advocates for client interests including ways to achieve client goals not currently available on KPB s investment management platform.
Undergraduate degree in a business related field. 10+ years of experience in the investment management field. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal). Strong client focus. Strong presentation skills. Ability to work as part of a sales and client servicing team. Experience and proven success in an open architecture environment. Progress towards advanced degree or professional certification. Previous experience in managing assigned staff of professionals. Demonstrated track record of sales success. Experience managing a high net worth book of business. Ability to use: office equipment, Trust accounting system and portfolio management system.
