* Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector's Power/Control Systems business is looking for an exceptionally talented,motivated, and creative Power Electronics Engineer to support product development and Research & Development \(R&D\)activities at our Sykesville, MD campus\.Northrop Grumman's Power/Control Systems is a leading supplier of power conversion equipment for the U\.S\. military\.Our power electronics is at the forefront of the industry and is aligned to be an integral part of the future of militarypower systems\. The candidate must be a strong team participant,have excellent communication skills, and be resourceful and multitalented\.The candidate must be capable of detailed design and analysis of power conditioning equipment associated with powersupplies, variable speed drives, frequency converters and multi\-level converters in a wide variety of applications rangingfrom 10s of watts to multi\-megawatt converters for shipboard and ground\-based combat platforms\. Implementation willinvolve advanced power conversion technology employing high frequency Pulse With Modulation \(PWM\), multi\-levelarchitectures, high speed communications and digital and analog controls\. Modeling and simulation using SABER forpower stages \(including associated transformers, input/output filters, dynamic loads, switching devices\) and SABER orMATLAB for controls is essential for validating hardware design and performance\. Other tasks would include the design ofpower magnetics, gate drives, protection circuits, I/O \(Input/Output\) interface circuits and control hardware associated withthe power stage\.The successful candidate would become a member of our Power/Control Systems community in Sykesville that hasinitiated many 'home grown' work\-life\-balance initiatives such as electric vehicle charging stations for employees,an on\-site fitness center, and various GreenNG environmental initiatives\. + Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related engineering field plus 2 years \(of Master of Science degree plus 0 years\) of engineering experience, which includes power electronics experience\.+ Ability to collaborate in a team environment\.+ Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions\.+ U\.S\. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense \(DoD\) Secret clearance or higher\.
