This position serves as an electrical power engineer as part of a project execution team in a major engineering office, performing power systems analysis and troubleshooting in support of Schneider Electric Field and Engineering Services activities. The power systems engineer (PSE) supports the technical requirements of Field Services, field sales, distributors, and other internal customers in defining, quoting, and executing the engineering component of Schneider Electric projects. PSE must have an understanding of power systems and analysis techniques. This includes the ability to review and understand one-line diagrams, control schematics, fault current analysis, protective device coordination, arc flash analysis and power quality analysis.
Technical scope of work includes power system analysis, power quality analysis, and power system design and improvement projects. PSE understands and applies IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA standards and National Electrical Code to successful performance of analysis and design.

PSE will be able to review documentation such as a one-line diagram, project specifications, and bills of material, perform power system analyses, and assemble quality engineering reports which document the results of the analysis and recommendations. Additionally, PSE may be required to interact with internal and external customers. PSE must be able to work safety and effectively in a team environment in the satisfactory performance of activities.

Job Functions:

* Perform electric power systems, short-circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor starting, arc flash hazard analysis.

* Produce project engineering documents including one-line diagrams, control schematics and equipment layout drawings.

* Develop electrical network architectures, protection schemes, electrical layouts and understand plant /facility processes.

* Develop knowledge and understanding of IEEE standards, NFPA 70E and NEC are desirable.

* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from accredited university, EIT certificate preferred

* Emphasis in power systems curriculum preferred

* Excellent attitude toward providing system solutions to customer problems

* Proven skills in written and oral communication of technical topics

* Familiar with Microsoft Office

* AutoCAD, electrical system analysis software experience preferred using SKM, Easypower and/or ETAP, and EDSA experience a plus.
