Channel Sales Engineer Boston- EMEA

Our client, a leading vendor of security event management systems is seeking to fill several Channel Sales Engineer positions in Boston, Chicago and Atlanta.

Ideal Candidates must have a background in Telecom, Government or on the Enterprise level.

This is a Road Warrior position. Must be willing to travel 50% as well as internationally (ie: potential travel to Germany, UK, Italy ect-


The Channel Sales Engineer will report directly to the VP of Solutions Engineering and communicate with the marketing department. The Channel Sales Engineer will also be responsible for working with stakeholders across the organization and internationally. This is a hands on Pre and Post-Sales position with customer facing and selling opportunities.


Skills and Expertise
. Advanced-level knowledge (installation and configuration through troubleshooting and third-party integration) of Linux (RedHat, SuSE), Perl, Regex expression parsing, and SQL
. Working knowledge and experience with mission-critical enterprise computing environments, including application architectures, network and application protocols and database reporting tools.
. Working knowledge and experience with network architectures, infrastructure and components, including, but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls, IDS systems, IPS systems, vulnerability scanners, antivirus software, asset management systems, security event management systems.
. Hands-on experience with security products such as firewalls, IDS and SIM products
. Mainframe (OS/390,as/400,unisys)
. Experience with pattern or statistical analysis and data warehousing/mining techniques

Must have strong knowledge in the following:

-RDBMS, data warehousing, data mining/reporting
-Security and event management
-Business intelligence solutions
-Network Solutions
-Systems logistics
-Compliances and auditing
-Client/server computing

Required Experience
. Five or more years of technical sales experience (sales engineering, pre-sales, post-sales, IT consulting)
. 5-7+ years in enterprise information security / IT industry
. Experience in creating technical deliverables for presentations and proposals.
. Experience working in a fast paced, customer driven environment

Preferred Certifications, and Education.
. B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other information technology field or equivalent work experience
. Certifications in CISSP/ISSEP or equivalent

Responsibilities
. Complete successful product implementations
. Establish good will and satisfaction with customers leading to future product and services revenue
. Articulate best practices and guidance leading to full deployment of our product line inside customer environments
. Design architecture involving interoperating Linux systems, data flow and external integration
. Install, configure, integrate and troubleshoot our clients software.
. Develop source log integration and parsing mechanisms using our clients technology
. Develop analytical reports and report schedules
. Facilitate problem resolution with our clients technical support
. Provide customer training on our clients technology
. Travel 50% to European countries.
. Act as a technical representative to customers
. Respond to RPF/RFI
. Lead technical discussions with prospects and customers
. Conduct product evaluations and deployments
. Manage technical features regarding the sales cycle and account management/relationship
. Provide solutions regarding designing and implementation
. Ability to clearly and succinctly describe technical issues
