Job Description
Job Summary
The Manager is responsible for VOA s Head Start, Universal Pre-K, and Pre-School programs, including wrap-around care. The Manager develops and supervises the implementation of programming that creates and fosters an environment in which children develop and reach cognitive, emotional, and physical benchmarks for their ages and are prepared for success in school. The Manager ensures that appropriate activities are provided, that assessment of children s progress is completed, and that all standards or regulations are followed. The Manager supervises staff, providing training, ongoing coaching & supervision, and performance feedback.
Essential Functions
Provide direct supervision to all classroom staff, including team meetings, individual meetings, classroom observations, modeling, and performance appraisal.
Ensure all classrooms are in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including state regulations, accreditation standards, HS/EHS performance standards and/or UPK standards.
Ensure that appropriate curriculum, activities and experiences are provided to facilitate the children s growth in all developmental areas.
Ensure that the classroom staff individualize the program to meet each child s needs social, emotional, cognitive, physical, etc. Provide staff with training to ensure management of classroom behavior issues. Coordinate with Family Service Providers and parents for children with social-emotional or behavioral issues.
Ensure that programming and lesson plans meet the needs of the children and is in alignment with High Scope curriculum.
Monitor enrollment and attendance to maximize revenue and research alternate funding sources that may be available in the community. Manage program budgets and ensure fiscal viability of the programs.
Ensure that child assessments are completed.
Facilitate CAT meetings
Liaison with the public schools or county Early Intervention Program for children with IFSP s or IEP s.
