PRESIDENT - VANTAGE ASSOCIATES - JOB DESCRIPTION

Vantage Associates Inc. is a manufacturer of high performance composite plastics and metallic components for the aerospace and defense markets. Vantage has three locations: Vantage Composites and Thermoforming in Gardena, CA, Vantage Master Machine in National City, CA, and Vantage Plane Plastics in Alva, OK. We are seeking applicants for the position of President to operate out of the Gardena, CA plant. The job description and requirements follow.

GENERAL:

The President, as the most senior corporate officer, is tasked with the hands on responsibility of managing all Company operations on a day-to-day basis. His/her primary mission is to employ all Company resources as he/she sees fit in order to achieve the objectives of the Company operating plan. The goal is to provide revenue growth while maintaining a strong earnings position. The President will be responsible for the managing all three Company divisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ten years or more experience successfully managing 100 plus employee job shop, manufacturing high quality aerospace components.
Knowledge of fiber reinforced plastic materials and the various methods of fabrication.
Recognize major players in aircraft, space, and defense industry, their programs, and how they function.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to read / understand financial statements and negotiate with financial institutions.
Sound understanding of AS-9100 and ISO principles.
Must be skilled in blue print reading and understanding and able to interpret specifications.
Education - Minimum B.S. Degree in Engineering, advanced degrees preferred.
Conversant in Lean Manufacturing methods, six sigma etc.
Strong interpersonal skills from board room to shop floor.
Understanding of machine shop practices and metal processing is a plus.
Ability to function effectively with limited trained staff.FACILITIES:

Vantage Composites and Thermoforming (CandT) - Gardena, CA

This location manufactures both unreinforced and reinforced plastic components for the commercial aircraft, space, and defense establishments. Core Competencies are: strong manufacturing engineering, well established, skilled composite lay-up technicians and fabricators, long relationships with core customer base.

Vantage Master Machine - National City, CA

Vantage Master Machine has a similar customer base as Vantage C and T but supplies high quality metallic parts. Vantage Master Machine's core competency is its ability to machine the harder metals such as titanium and high strength steels on its multiple heavy duty CNC machining centers. We are also well positioned to undertake small preproduction jobs or large quantity production runs.

Vantage Plane Plastics - Alva, OK

Vantage Plane Plastics currently manufactures and sells our own PMA approved plastic interior components to the general aviation industry. Vantage Plane Plastics's core competency lies in its marketing and sales ability supported by a solid manufacturing capability.


JOB LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

At present it is the Company's opinion that our greatest asset, and greatest area for long-term growth, rests with our expertise in the fabrication of composite material parts and assemblies. As such, the President will maintain his/her office in Gardena, CA.

Initially it will be necessary to make frequent trips to National City to cover corporate matters and to establish leadership at Vantage Master Machine. The President will have a secondary office in the National City plant.

Vantage Plane Plastics currently operates somewhat autonomously, however, it will be necessary to spend some on-site time in the early stages. Subsequent travel will be left to the discretion of the President.SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare monthly revenue forecast, review and adjust weekly working closely with the CFO.
Establish annual booking forecast by division, by customer - Track Monthly.
Track job cost - Isolate losers and modify approach to minimize the loss.
Continually explore new business ventures, new customers, acquisitions, new products etc.
Review progress with division managers and senior staff weekly.
Meet customers and maintain regular contact either personally or through subordinates.
Have high profile when visiting our facilities - acknowledge employees, be accessible and approachable.
Review revenue and earnings monthly and adjust budgets accordingly, again working closely with the CFO.
Prepare and present, with assistance of CFO, annual operating plan to CEO and Board of Directors for approval.
Prepare a rolling five year plan.COMPENSATION:

Vantage is offering a starting salary of $155,000 annually with a performance bonus of $75,000 based on the operating plan, paid by March 15th of each year as earned. Additionally, the President will participate in the Incentive Stock Option Plan to provide options for ownership of up to 5% of Company stock.
