Job Description

Serve as Principle Systems Security Engineer on a team responsible for performing the requirements analysis, high-level design, detailed design, code development, integration and testing of an object-oriented, Java software application for a large DoD program. The Principle Systems Security Engineer will: review, decompose and validate system security requirements; determine security-related system design details; communicate with customers and other stakeholders to provide Defense in Depth; present technical briefings at Technical Interchange Meetings and Design Reviews. Write security and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation such as Theories of Compliance, Security Concepts of Operations, and System Security Plans. Analyze Engineering Change Proposals for impact to the secure design of the system. Write and execute test cases and requirement verification statements for formal Security Verification Testing. Develop automated test scripts and provide lockdown configurations. Ensure National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) compliance of the system through Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM). Directly communicate with the customer to obtain their feedback and to recommend solutions to complex technical issues. Provide the customer technical guidance in written documents when guidance was requested. Use these IBM/Rational tools: RequistePro for requirements management; ClearCase for configuration management; and ClearQuest for problem tracking and resolution.

Required Education:
12+ Years with BS or 10+ Years with MS or 7+ Years with PhDRequired Experience:
Required Skills:
A Principle Systems Security Engineer must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science and at least 6 years of experience in designing and developing complex systems.

Personnel may substitute at least three years of relevant professional experience for a Bachelors degree. System Security Engineers shall have a demonstrated understanding of secure systems engineering and development, including system/security requirements analysis, system/security requirements allocation, trade-off analysis, system security analysis, and secure system definition and specification development.

Systems Security Engineers must have the ability to perform in accordance with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 best practices.Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of software engineering and development, software testing, and software documentation is desirable. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
