Job Description
We are currently looking to add a Principal-Level Engineer to serve as the AK D&H Growth Leader/CSM in our Anchorage office.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Lead the Dams & Hydro growth strategy in Alaska, including identification of client opportunities, positioning/pursuit, proposal preparation, presentations, participation in industry associations, and other business development & marketing activities.
Client service management of selected AK D&H clients.
Possess an understanding of, and the ability to, lead dam/hydropower projects, and communicate design concepts to other staff and clients.
Supervise staff, and serve as the project manager/technical lead for small to large-sized domestic and international water resource, hydroelectric, and dam projects, as required.
Lead efforts for budgeting, recruiting, staffing, client relations, technical management, coordination of multi-discipline engineering efforts, contractor/supplier quality control, quality assurance, subcontract management and contract administration, coordination of contractors, and contract and claims management.
Coordinate efforts with client counterparts to ensure an ongoing positive relationship.
Establish strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior management.
Work in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.Qualifications Demonstrated broad-based knowledge of dam and hydropower planning/design, with a specialty in at least one of the areas of Geotechnical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, or Electrical Engineering,
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer certification.
A minimum of 20 years of experience in project or program management, water resources, and hydroelectric and dams project work.
Demonstrated leadership in successfully identifying opportunities, pursuing projects, and winning contracts.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Working knowledge of project management systems, project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analyses, resource analyses, and reporting.
Client service management skills and proposal preparation experience.
Excellent team building and communications skills.
International and domestic travel may be required.Preferred Specifications Advanced degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in dams and hydropower
