Dewberry is seeking an individual ready to take the next step in their career as a Principal Engineer in our Virginia Beach, VA office. The successful candidate will be ready to serve in a leadership role for Dewberry's engineering service offerings in the Hampton Roads region. This position will involve personnel and project management, and requires an individual with strong personal, technical, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will manage and leverage relationships with public-sector water/wastewater and/or transportation clients to set business strategy and direction in the Hampton Roads market and develop new clients and business.

VA Professional Engineering license.
10+ years of experience with increasing levels of project and client management responsibility for public-sector clients in the Hampton Roads region.
Extensive technical experience in the engineering and design of public-sector projects.
Successful track record of maintaining public-sector client relationships in the Hampton Roads market.
A successful track record of managing projects, including scope, schedule and budget.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong client management and new business development skills.
Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff-level practitioners.
