PROCESS ENGINEER INTERNSHIP OR CO-OP
Verso Corporation is seeking candidates for Process Engineering Internship / Co-Op positions at our Jay, Maine facility. This facility manufactures coated free sheet printing, writing, and specialty grades of paper.
This position will provide process engineering solutions to the mill operating departments, with the goal of improving process efficiency and decreasing costs. The individual in this position will participate in process improvement efforts as a part of cross-functional teams, and will provide support to capital project implementation. Key responsibilities will be:
As part of a team, complete projects to:
1. Improve product quality
2. Reduce costs, reduce process variability or otherwise improve process efficiency
3. Develop new grades and products
4. Reduce environmental impact
Provide technical support for the key manufacturing departments.
Utilize analytical skills and technical knowledge to assist in regular troubleshooting of process upsets or quality excursions.
Desired knowledge and experience:
High level of achievement towards a Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science / Engineering ( preferred), or other applicable engineering fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering
Training and / or experience with paper making and kraft recovery cycle operations
Demonstrated leadership responsibilities in previous experiences, with a potential to advance to management leadership positions in the future
