Verso Corporation is seeking candidates for Process Engineering positions at our Jay, Maine facility. This facility manufactures coated free sheet printing, writing, and specialty grades of paper.
This position will provide process engineering solutions and technical leadership to the mill operating departments, with the goal of improving process efficiency and decreasing costs. The individual in this position will lead process improvement efforts as a part of cross-functional teams, and will provide support to capital project implementation. Either as part of a team, or in a leadership role, complete projects to:
1. Improve product quality
2. Reduce costs, reduce process variability or otherwise improve process efficiency
3. Develop new grades and products
4. Reduce environmental impact
Lead the technical support role for the manufacturing departments.
Identify the analytical skills and technical knowledge needed to troubleshoot process upsets or quality excursions, and lead the implementation of the analysis and solutions.
Desired knowledge and experience:
A Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science / Engineering ( preferred), or a Bachelor s degree in other applicable engineering fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering
Experience and/or training with paper making and kraft recovery cycle operations
LEAN, Six Sigma, and advanced statistical data analysis skills
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the potential to advance to management leadership positions in the future
