Test and troubleshoot controls of plastic injection molding machinery and related automation.
Works with engineering team to assist in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes to support general growth and capacity.
Required to comply with all outlined safety procedures and guidelines and expected to drive and uphold first class standards in employee safety initiatives.
Evaluates reliability data and achieves improvements in equipment downtime and improve equipment utilization
Computer orientated (Microsoft Office, Auto CAD)
Demonstrated leadership and Training, evaluating, and mentoring other plastic technicians.
Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, excellent communication skills
Creative thinker, strong analytical and decision making skills
Occasional travel may require visiting vendors, OEMs, etc.
Journeyman Certification- Plastic Injection Molding or equivalent work history.
Issues regular status reports in established format.
Works with R&D and operations to introduce and scale up new products and processes based on current equipment capabilities.
Ensures adequacy of process controls and measuring equipment to appropriate standards through proper preventive maintenance and calibration standards.
Work with outside vendors to ensure designs are properly executed and schedules maintained.
Assist in mechanical assembly or other production duties to meet expected deliverables
Assist in organizational activities such as physical inventory or inventory adjustments, re-arrangement of work areas and other similar activities
Work with operations leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
Monitor and improve productivity through the use of Lean Six Sigma or related tools.
Familiarity with cellular manufacturing and JIT (Just in Time) concept
This position is 3rd Shift hours.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

* In depth knowledge of resin and plastics.
* Able to qualify parts utilizing standard quality tools/parameters.
* Proficient in Scientific (Decoupled) molding process.
* LEAN manufacturing knowledge and the ability to apply the methods/theory.
* Master Molder II certified.
Previous experience working with Van Dorn, Engel, Krauss, and Haitian machines
Associates degree or Injection Molding Journeys certification
