Colorado Springs, Colorado Job Description:* Procure materials, equipment, and commodity products of medium to high complexity and value for government programs and to support depot requirements
* Negotiate with suppliers, evaluate bids, and select suppliers based on price, delivery, quality, and service
* Resolve problems and makes recommendations. Interfaces with materiel, engineering, quality, and program management
* Monitor activities against department objectives and submits performance reports to management
* Manage supplier delivery for end items, quality documents and test articles
* Interface with materiel, engineering, quality, and program management to make recommendations regarding supply base issues
* Assist in development of strategic supplier relationships
* Participate and/or leads projects/teams as assigned
* Identify process improvements and facilitates implementation
* Attend meetings & conference calls with programs to manage more complex procurements
* Utilize MRP systems, PeopleSoft financial system, Supplier Rating System, RI Web Applications, and Supplier Net applications
* Work with accounts payable and manage open commitments utilizing PeopleSoft. Qualifications:* Bachelor degreewith 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain fieldorMaster degreewith 0-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain field Preferred Additional Skills:* Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to take a leadership position in a program team environment
* Knowledge of supply chain processes
* Familiarity or background with FAR/DFAR requirements
* Negotiation and follow up skills
