We are a fast growing, publicly traded company, (NYSE: BKD) with a rich 25 year heritage of senior housing expertise. www.brookdaleliving.com We currently have an opportunity for an organized, experienced, and highly motivated Procurement Specialist in our Chicago, IL Corporate Office. Key responsibilities for this position include: Strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management activities for the Corporate Services category. The specialist will be responsible for the day to day activities related to key subcategories such as Travel and Supplies. Strong customer service skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel are required. Roles and Responsibilities • Utilize strategic sourcing processes to ensure that contracts are put in place that meet the needs of our communities, while providing synergy in process and savings. • Negotiate and implement local, regional, and national agreements to support the savings and service goals of the procurement team. • Drive contract and vendor compliance to the new and existing national agreements. • Support communication and training to associates of preferred programs and processes. • Assist Brookdale associates with general questions on preferred suppliers and programs. • Monthly reporting and analysis. • Track contract expiration and renewal. • Facilitate knowledge share with Procurement Team, Accounts Payable, HR and other teams as necessary for consistency in research, quality assurance, and performance metrics and pricing. Qualified candidates will possess the following requirements: • 3 to 5 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university preferred. • Proven success sourcing categories for a national, multi-location organization including: managing RFP’s, vendor relationships, c
