We are searching for top candidates for our Product Development Engineer position located in San Diego, California.

Responsibilities include:

* Design and development activities in new products, research, VE/CE and sustaining exercises
* Experienced in being part of full scale development projects with cross functional teams. Can be called upon to manage smaller projects as leader.
* Works with and evaluates turn-key suppliers and consultants and their capabilities to provide required products or services in the development of new products and techniques, especially in the areas of plastic processing such as injection molding.
* Capable of concurrent project execution and multi-tasking.
* Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.
* Creates and modifies detailed 3-D models and drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes either self generated or provided by engineering, industrial design, or marketing.
* Specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects
* Checks model/drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards and fundamental engineering practices.
* Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.
* Develops his/her specific contributions to project budgets and timelines.
* Works with R&D prototype shop/lab staff in the creation of material samples and product concept models, including rapid prototype techniques such as FDM.
