Job Description
Design and develop new recipe/ process and production of bench top and pilot plant prototyping. Will have the ability to develop relevant prototypes/ processes under the guidance of the R&D Scientist/ Process Engineer. Will also be assisting the R&D Scientist/Process Engineer in manufacturing line trials. Design and develop to make relevant and creative prototypes throughout the development process. This includes the ability to operate existing and new equipment used in making prototypes for sensory and consumer testing. Evaluate and select raw materials appropriate to the product design format, quality attributes and commercial parameters. Improve, maintain and update current recipes, raw materials, quality specifications, nutritional information, and KQA's (key quality attributes) using the current computer systems. Implement shelf life studies, analytical and sensory testing to ensure the products are maintained and tested in a timely manner. Be able to interpret results and recommend action plan based on data. Create and assemble pilot processes based on product design specifications. Assemble and disassemble pilot plant equipment. Document experiments and determine/validate process parameters for the manufacture of a wide range of products. Technical understanding of food science/ engineering and the supporting sub-processes for the manufacture of food systems. Manage and maintain raw material and finished goods inventories. This includes storage, shipping, labeling of raw materials/finished products to the general organization of the work area to maintain a clean & safe working environment. We are looking for candidates local to the area. We do no have a relocation budget planned for this position. Desired Education/Experience: Minimum BS, Food Science, Chemistry 6 months - 1 year work experience in R&D, Manufacturing or Quality Assurance positions. Food Science experience preferred.
