The Product Fulfillment Coordinator is responsible for supporting the strategic planning, organization and control of the daily operation of distribution, service, retention, single copy sales and collection, and advertising initiatives/programs for Newsday and its contracted products in a given geographic area. The incumbent will ensure all activities are in accordance with the strategic and operating plans of the Distribution Operations & Systems department. The Coordinator will assist in the planning and implementation for the distribution, tracking and administration of other publications and address-specific products and will participate in recommending system solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
The Coordinator will participate in the development of the overall distribution expense budget, including fee considerations, and all other operating expenses. Identifies opportunities for process improvements that result in an increase in efficiency and/or customer service. Supports all routine actions associated with the successful planning, execution and maintenance of alternate delivery clients and other address-specific products. Participates in the successful coordination and timing of project plans, customer data transmission protocols, and related processes with alternate delivery clients and vendors and internal customers. Assist departmental planning for effective integration of products into distribution systems for optimal efficiency and accuracy. *Bachelor s degree.
*1-2 years distribution management experience.
*Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a deadline driven environment with changing priorities
*Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities are preferred.
*Strong negotiating skills are preferred.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and the ability to work with proprietary or relational databases is required.
*Strong communication and project management skills.
*Demonstrated ability to work with and lead diverse groups of people and teams in a collaborative environment.
*Occasional flexibility with working early a.m. hours (2 a.m. start) including weekends and holiday s as well as in a variety of settings (office, warehouse, on the road).
*Car, valid driver s license and clean driving record.
*Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
