PRIMARY PURPOSE: This is an engineering role responsible for product line maintenance, product line testing, developing customer solutions and New Product Development by working with Product Managers to grow Electric Motion Company sales and profitability.


* Product line maintenance {cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests and interfacing with various departments including Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement & QA Departments}

* Product line variations {design, test & document product variations needed for specific customer demands}

* Perform or assist with mechanical and/or electrical testing needs to qualify or validate product performance.

* Collaborate with Product Manager in efforts to understand industry needs and define product line additions necessary to gain greater market share.

* Assist Product Manager in supporting Customers with application needs/questions and may include customer training of proper product application/installation.

* For New Product Development, will be prototyping and designing for manufacturability new products.

* Coordinate multiple projects from start to finish utilizing the Hubbell, New Product Development Process.

* Work with a cross-functional team to accomplish these tasks including, but not limited to, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Sourcing, Sales, and Marketing.

* Ensure regulatory compliance of product designs with UL; CSA; ANSI; ASTM; Bellcore & Telcordia; and/or IEEE standards for connectors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel on business related trips (limited travel needs); ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required; able to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds as needed (part inspection, part fit check, product testing, etc.)

RECOMMENDED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: BS degree in engineering, SolidWorks or Inventor 2D/3D knowledge and Microsoft Office proficiencies. Candidates must have good drive and resourcefulness, organizational and communication skills (including presentations), computer skills as well as be able to multitask and schedule effectively.5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
