Product Manager

The Product Manager s core responsibility is understanding the CO2 laser market and associated customer needs, and using this understanding to drive the company s marketing and new product development initiatives.

Job Description:


* Manage the product line life cycle at a strategic level by conducting market research, segmenting markets according to customer needs, and identifying target segments for Synrad s marketing and product development initiatives. * Manage the product line at a tactical level by driving new products through our stage-gate process, launching marketing and lead generation campaigns, and supporting our go-to-market channel (both direct and indirect) through trade show participation, training, etc. * Business Development:Continually scan the industry for value creation opportunities through partnerships and mergers & acquisitions.

Job Requirements


* Enthusiasm for market research.You will perform both primary research (directly interviewing and surveying customers to uncover unmet needs) and secondary research (reading industry publications, professional research reports, etc.)You ll synthesize all you ve learned to create novel segmentations of our markets. * Enthusiasm for understanding high technology products.You won t be asked to design lasers, but you will interact regularly with the engineering team to find the optimal intersection of customer needs and technical feasibility. * Enthusiasm for broad business fundamentals.The product line decisions you make will impact revenue growth, gross margins, operating margins, working capital, and overall operational efficiency.You ll need to enjoy thinking through how your decisions cascade through all of those metrics. * Ability to travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America, Europe, Asia (25%).

Education and Experience:

* 3+ years of industrial/high tech product management experience. * Experience in photonics and/or laser industry. * Knowledgeable in technology. * BS degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Science, or Math) strongly preferred. * MBA preferred but not required. * Under limited supervision using test procedures, drawings schematics and verbal instructions will assemble, adjust, test, sub-assemblies and finished products to manufactures specification paying close attention to quality and workmanship. * Reports pass/fail data to the area supervisor and maintain accurate records. * Performs other duties as required. * Contributes to team effort.
