Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the business unit to define and execute product line growth plans. The position is focused on developing an intimate understanding of the market, building value-added relationships with target customers, and working with a global team of Sales professionals and Field Applications to expand business with new and existing customers.

This individual will be responsible for managing a product line portfolio and achieving the revenue and profit goals of the business unit.

Position responsibilities:

Leadership

- Lead the business unit teams (Product Engineering, Applications, Design, etc.) to define new products, establish product roadmaps consistent with customer needs, and select new products for development among numerous investment opportunities.
- Develop and lead the execution of market segment and product strategies for customers in the target segments to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Establish effective marketing plans and achieve product line growth plans.
- Build cooperative relationships with Global Sales, Manufacturing and Operations, and other Product Divisions.

P&L Responsibility

- Achieve revenue and profit goals for the product line.
- Develop pricing strategies to achieve market penetration and profit objectives.
- Develop revenue and unit volume forecasts based on market trends, customer input, etc.
- Represent the business unit in contract negotiations with key customers.

New Product Development

- Identify, recommend and drive new product development opportunities based on customer needs, market trends, business unit strategy and financial analysis.
- Define innovative product attributes to create product differentiation. Collaborate with other divisions and business units to create solutions that leverage other ON products to solve customer problems.
- Collaborate with target customers to share product and technology roadmaps and ensure consistency between internal development plans and customer needs.
- Develop and execute launch plans for new product introductions.
- Develop and manage specific product families in support of market segment strategies.

Portfolio Management

- Manage the life-cycle of the product portfolio and individual product families from introduction and growth to end-of-life.
- Support demand forecasting and inventory planning based on inputs from Sales. Position Requirements Key Candidate Attributes:

- Strong technical and business background in the semiconductor industry.
- Outstanding leadership skills, a strong sense of urgency and the drive to succeed in a highly competitive market.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to think tactically and strategically.
- A track record of proven success in marketing and product management positions, including the development and successful execution of strategic and tactical business plans.

Market Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in marketing/product management, strategic business planning, and new product development;
- Intimate knowledge of the following market segments, including familiarity with relevant applications and key customers:
Computing, Consumer, Automotive and Industrial.

The Candidate
Experience:
Possess at least 5 years of demonstrated success in the semiconductor industry in similar positions. Candidates should have a strong technical background and experience leading a team of product and application professionals. The candidate must demonstrate good business sense, critical thinking skills, outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to succeed.

Education:
Bachelors and Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. MBA preferred.

- Proven success in marketing, new product development, and product & technology management.
- Proven experience working with customers on design, business strategy, and product roadmaps.
