JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY JOB DESCRIPTION:
Design and facilitate on-site and on-line consumer research events to support development of Hyundai/Kia Passenger Vehicles. Coordinate research supplier reports and author internal research reports. Support close relationships with internal teammates (including from other functional groups) & external suppliers. Prepare technical reports and present findings to Senior Management. Travel to Industry conferences, auto shows and consumer research events to further support on-going projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Lead design, facilitation, execution and reporting of consumer research events in U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil
Consult with other HATCI departments for optimal research design
Attend training and symposiums to stay abreast of latest developments in consumer research methodology
Propose innovative approaches to research events to minimize consumer filtering and bias
Purchase and manage 3rd party resources (reports, consulting, etc.) in support of consumer research activities
Co-work with marketing affiliates in U.S., Canada, Mexico and Brazil to develop consistent voice to Korea R&D
Attend auto shows throughout the world as applicable and submit cohesive reports that identify industry and vehicle trends, including key technologies and strategies
Respond to numerous ad-hoc requests for consumer and industry information in a timely manner
Support development of optimal segmentation for targeting vehicle consumers in all vehicle segments
Support establishment and management of consumer pool and expert panel for rapid feedback on Hyundai/Kia vehicles and competitors
Support establishment of data analytics function within HATCI Product Planning
Support development of Hyundai/Kia vehicle product plans
Support development of Hyundai/Kia vehicle and powertrain long-range product plan (LRPP) and Features guide
Perform administrative functions such as requesting purchase requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.
Perform additional projects as assigned.
Travel up to 20% of time domestically and internationally.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Qualifications and Requirements
Proficient knowledge of Automotive products and market
Proficient knowledge of consumer research methods (ideally automotive industry-related) that includes qualitative and quantitative on-site, on-line and internet-based approaches
Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
Flexible, organized and able to work effectively with all levels of employees.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Product Development
Master s degree or MBA preferred, but not required
5 years (minimum) of experience with an Automotive OEM, supplier or other consumer product company in automotive-related consumer research
Experience working in a culturally diverse team environment
Proficient Project Management skills
Proficient skills conducting Automotive Market Research
Proficient skills in M-Tab
Proficient skills in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Proficient time management and organization skills
Proficient self-management skills
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Office Environment - - no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.
Vehicle Environment - May require operation of vehicles for total of 1,000 miles over a 2 - 3 day period.
