Arcadis is seeking a Product Stewardship Specialist to be based in one of our Southern California offices - Irvine or Los Angeles.
Successful candidate will work in a client focused team implementing and executing Product Stewardship compliance activities including but not limited to: new product reviews, regulatory compliance assessments, product registrations, declaration-of-conformity coordinations, etc. This position requires the candidate to have effective communication skills as they will be working closely with the local client team. Meeting with others within the client s organization on a regular basis will be required.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Product Stewardship (e.g., RoHS, WEEE, Battery Directive, REACH )
Product Safety (e.g., FDA, FCC, CE mark)
Classify chemicals per regulatory requirements
Author, update, and review Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) per regulatory requirements for a consumer goods manufacturing company
Assist with development of standard operating procedures and work rules
Assist with continuous process improvement for safety data sheet authoring process
Regularly report Product Stewardship health indicators to upper management.
Work with R&D and vendors on Product Stewardship improvements and issues.
3 years of relevant experience
Bachelors degree (BS, BA or BE) can have been obtained in a variety of fields to prepare for a career in product stewardship / regulatory affairs such as: Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other
Experience authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Strong undergraduate coursework in Chemistry, including Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Calculus
Product Stewardship and Product Safety professional experience
Experience in the manufacturing industry related to product development, safety analysis, and regulatory programs including OSHA Hazard Communication standards
Willing to accommodate local travel to meet with clients
Background/Drug Screen Statementcolor
Arcadis conducts background checks on all final candidates for employment. Certain jobs will also require a clean driving record, education verification & certification verification.
Required Driving Statementcolor
This position requires a current valid driver s license and clean driving record.
Masters degree preferred
Previous employment with or involving a consumer goods manufacturing company (i.e. pharmaceuticals, medical devices or personal care companies)
Attention to detail and thorough self-review of work product
Ability to apply rules to derive impact to product
Experience with medical device manufacturing preferred
