Urban Decay Cosmetics is seeking a Production Design Manager to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.


The Production Design Manager is responsible for the management of all seasonal collateral updates for Creative Services and Visual Merchandising. This position will manage the Production Designers and the flow of design jobs in conjunction with the print timelines, digital assets and related workflow within the department and work as a liaison between the Art Director, Traffic and Production Managers. They will also assist in managing brand integrity, layout consistency, technical file management and production work as needed. Ultimately the Production Design Manager is responsible for on time delivery of all production related projects to the Production Managers for domestic and Traffic for international jobs. Must be technically savvy in Adobe Creative Suites, have a strong understanding of file prep and printing techniques.


Responsible for the integrity, coordination and completion of all production design related projects.


Meticulous attention to detail and keen design eye to catch typos, mistakes, and off brand design.

Manage the Production Designers to maintain brand and design integrity per season.

Confirm the designers are delivering print ready based on printing technique (ex. files are set to appropriate size with bleed, colors are to spec, links are not missing, etc.).

Prioritize jobs accordingly to meet release dates for the Production Managers.

Maintain working calendars and timelines to ensure on time delivery.

Work in conjunction with the Production Managers to review final proofs, press checks, color management.

Help the Production Designers keep files organized on server for easy retrieval.


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:


Able to professionally prepare files for print (Link files, follow file naming and storage protocols, etc.)

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

Basic print and production knowledge is a plus, but is not necessary. On the job training will be available.

Passion for graphic/print design and display work.

Good layout sense a must.

Ability to work as a team with all departments.

Creates and maintains good vendor relations.


Education/ Experience/ Licenses or Certifications:


Retail merchandising experience, a plus

Four year degree in Business or equivalent * 1-3 years previous experience in a similar position



Basic Mac system/software

Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

Basic MS Office Software

Standard MS Office applications

Basic PC/Mac conversion/compatibility troubleshooting

Resourceful with internet
