Description:
This job involves the overall leadership of multiple
production operators for an ultra-high temperature
processing and packaging operation as well as operating
responsibility for the multiple processors. The
individual is responsible for maintaining a high level
of efficiency and productivity; during downtime assign
tasks to line employees so a high level of productivity
is achieved as well as overall quality of the product
and housekeeping. This person must be able to interact
positively with management and hourly workers in a
manner that will maximize the goals of the operation.
This person should act as a role model and set the
example for the team by actively participating in the
task at hand. In addition, this individual must
demonstrate acute troubleshooting skills as well as a
full understanding of the UHT, HTST system equipment,
consisting of pumps, valves, controls, fillers, and
packaging line machines.
Requirements:
*
Ensure that all plant operations receive mix batches
in a timely manner, i.e. UHT, HTST, and creamers.
*
Operate processing systems and all related equipment
ensuring that all legal and critical control
parameters are satisfied or ensure that this is
carried out properly by an operator.
*
Ensure that housekeeping and GMP s are at the
highest level in the UHT processing and filling
areas.
*
Ensure that the cleaning of the UHT systems and
related equipment, i.e. tanks and lines are cleaned
both through CIP and manual exterior cleaning.
*
Ensure that mix meets quality specifications and is
processed in a manner, which meets the scrutiny of a
HACCP program.Also ensure that the finished package
meets all plant and customer requirements pertaining
to container integrity and coding.Complete HACCP
form checklist hourly and speck checks every 15
minutes.
*
Ensure that operation runs at a high level of
efficiency by assisting other operators in
correcting machine problems, supervising
changeovers, and manually performing machine
functions if possible in order to keep the
production line operating (e.g. hand palletizing).
*
Record all production data on batch sheets and
through BPCS inventory control system.
*
Ensure that UHT line operators maintain productivity
when line goes down by performing master sanitation
tasks and/or special projects.Keep operators
informed of production and system status.
*
Ensure that raw product tanks & lines are washed
within two hours of emptying.
*
Assist and direct maintenance if necessary in
correcting equipment problems.
*
Actively partake in and supervise the UHT system
preventative maintenance program, ensuring all items
are accomplished on a weekly, monthly, bi-annual,
and annual basis.
OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
*
Assist maintenance on major repairs of equipment.
*
Perform other assignments when requested by a
Supervisor.
