Industry leading, global manufacturer is recruiting for a Production Manager at their operation in the Greenwood, SC area. The Production Manager will assist the Plant Manager in establishing production goals, labor costs, fixed and variable costs. You will manage production operations, direct production staff of up to 40, focus on ensuring that Production and Quality goals are met. You will lead the production department in achieving high quality product and the lowest possible cost.
* Plans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing and ensures that scheduled deadlines and quality standards are met.
Determine staffing and work schedules needed
Works closely with plant safety and quality teams to proactively identify issues, develop procedures, and give the appropriate training and equipment to employees.
You will assist the Plant Management Group in planning and controlling budgets will ensure that the operation is the cost effective production of high quality products for delivery to customers.
Prepare and deliver daily & weekly presentations on plant metrics and project status.
Ensure that all products meet plant quality standards.
Execute the daily production schedule and meet or exceed production goals.
The position requires proven production management success. Requires expertise in staff development, statistical managerial techniques, troubleshooting equipment and processes on the manufacturing lines. This position ensures government, environmental, and regulatory compliance. You should enjoy a daily challenge of efficient production; have conflict resolution skills, and success at improving productivity and problem solving. This position is part of the Strategic Division Plant Operations Team.
We are looking for a BS degree in Engineering or in Business with 5+ years of production engineering and production leadership/management experience. Extrusion process experience is a plus.. You should have knowledge of budgeting and reporting production performance. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
