The HT Group has partnered up with a manufacturing client in the Louisville, KY area seeking a Chemical Production Manager. We are looking for an Innovative Manager that is very hands on at Leading a team and involved in continuous process and safety improvement, to help cut down on overall production costs. This person would be teaming with the Production Leader on creating a positive work environment and more accountability for the team as well as cross training efforts. Someone who continuously seeks ways to improve performance of their facility's operation.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Manage the production unit's material, manpower, and equipment resources for safe and efficient conversion of raw materials into specification products. Formulate and implement tactical manufacturing operating plans which will ensure meeting the Company's business and economic plans for the plant. Manage the production staff by defining job functions, evaluating staffing requirements, developing job skills, evaluating performance and recommending merit increases. Improve employee output through optimizing operations and minimizing manpower. Supervises Dryer Foremen and a Process/Project Engineer directly, with indirect supervision of approx 30 union employees. Continuous improvement in quality through the implementation of SPC and ISO9000 quality requirements. Ensure that the Dryer production areas are manufacturing quality products in a cost effective and productive manner. Manage systems to maintain ISO certification, ensure production of high quality products using 5S and continuous improvement. Maintain area morale and communication by providing area objectives, interacting with operators daily and providing constant feedback.


* Leadership skills and experience managing a team within manufacturing plant environment and understands how to get the Products out.
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization.
* Continuous improvement in quality through the implementation of SPC and ISO9000 quality requirements.
* Experience in Lean, 5S, Kaizen required. Prefer Six Sigmaexperience as well.
* Degree in Chemical Engineeringrequired.
